WEFT 90.1 FM is Community Radio for East Central Illinois. Founded in 1975 as Prairie Air, Incorporated; it took the station until 1981 to get FCC approval for the first FM broadcast on September 25, 1981. WEFT is a resource for the community, especially for the local music scene. WEFT Sessions, one of the longest running live music shows in Illinois, is a weekly one-hour program featuring live music from local singers and bands. There are several other local music shows and local artists are included in the vast WEFT music library for airplay. WEFT broadcasts at 90.1 FM and also can be streamed live on weft.org and on the WEFT App.
